Centro Launch Party in Mexico City
PoderPDA was on-hand at the Palm Centro launch party held recently in Mexico. The site has published an interesting report from the event in english with a good assortment of pictures from the festivities.
The party was held at a well known lounge bar in Mexico City. Palm's CEO Ed Colligan was present along with a number of executives from Palm Mexico and Latin America, some models demonstrating the Centro and Mexican recording artist Ximena Sariņana. Of course the Blue Centro made an appearance as well.
Palm recently announced the Centro in Mexico with Telcel and Movistar.

looks like fun. i'd be drinking Coronas and shots of Patron with the models. if you're going down, you might as well go down having fun!
Cinco De Mayo is almost here!
RE: Models
1. Where is the lovely Sara? Did they not bring her to this event?
2. Where is Colligan's band of boy toys?
On a (slightly) more serious note, doesn't this seem like more hoopla than usual for Palm as far as addressing the Mexican market? Are they trying to intentionally pick up marketshare in emerging markets such as Central/South America, India etc? I'm assuming these areas are targeted as being a good for for POS & the Centro due to the smartphone competition being not quite as fierce and the consumers are more price-conscious.

RE: Models
Yes, however Palm needs all the hoopla they can get, not having anything substantial to otherwise PR-fluff about at the moment.

My guess is that the women behind him are there to try to detract from his dorkishness. :) Almost works, but not quite... :)
