Treo 'Hollywood' Images Leaked?

Rumor Images of an unidentified Palm Treo smartphone have been posted on the TreoCentral Forums. This new Treo is being labeled as the likely code-named Hollywood Treo that was previously leaked by an investment report. The device pictured runs Windows Mobile and has similar hardware specs as the 700w.

Alltel announced today that it is launching Office Sync, which allows users to send and receive e-mail in real time from their Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices. Office Sync also enables customers to view their calendars and contacts while on the go.

Palm Opens New Store in Washington DC

Palm has opened a new retail location at Union Station, in Washington, D.C. The store will carry all the current Palm products including Treo smartphones, the Palm TX handheld, and LifeDrive mobile manager as well as many accessories and software programs.

The new release of Handmark Pocket Express now offers free news, sports, and weather to smartphone and handheld users. The service still offers movie showtimes, 411 directory search, street level maps and turn-by-turn driving directions for an additional subscription fee.

Video Ringtones for the Treo

Toysoft has released a new utility called VideoTones for Palm Treo smartphones that adds video ringtones and also acts as a mp3/wav/ogg/avi file ringtone manager. The software also adds North America area codes so you can see what area incoming calls are coming from.
VideoTones v1.0 sells for $19.95 and there is a free trial available for download. It supports the Treo 650 and 600.

Palm Receives Display Technology Patent

In a rather unexpected nod to the retro screen technology of yore, Palm has recently received patent #7002569 from the USPTO. The new software patent covers the ability to make the screen to go into monochrome mode in order to extend battery life on mobile devices.
