Sony Corp. has just named Howard Stringer as its chairman pending shareholder approval. This move marks the first time a foreigner will head a major Japanese electronics firm.

Symbol Renews Palm OS License With PalmSource

Symbol and PalmSource today announced a private label distributor agreement enabling Symbol customers to take advantage of PalmSource's operating system software. Symbol will license Palm OS for use in several of its mobile computers including the SPT1550 and SPT1800 handhelds and other future Symbol mobile computers.

Study Predicts Steep Decline for PDA Market

The traditional PDA is heading for significant declines in sales, and in fact is nearing the end of its life as a major product segment, according to In-Stat. Shipments reached only 8.7 million units in 2004, down from 10 million in 2003, the high-tech market research firm says.

PalmSource Moving to Support SyncML
