The Palm Tungsten W handheld today received a $130 price cut and Palm has announced a new Zire 71 Limited Edition handheld. The LE Zire 71 is aimed at Teachers and schools with a large suite of included educational software.

PCMagazine has posted a preliminary review of a preproduction Handspring Treo 600. PCMag says the Treo 600 improves on the original in almost every way.

Palm's Zire handheld has won a Gold award in the 2003 Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition, co-sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and BusinessWeek magazine.

PalmSource announced today that its European Developer Conference will take place in Munich Germany, on September 22 and 23, 2003. At the two-day conference, to take place during Munich's internationally famous Oktoberfest, European Palm OS developers will receive the latest information about the Palm OS platform and learn about the most recent mobile device developments from Palm OS licensees.

Palm has reported revenues of $225.8 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2003, up 8 percent from last quarter. Worldwide sales rose 5 per cent compared with the same period last year, as Palm sold over 900,000 handhelds during the period.

Chapura today released a new, comprehensive software MS Outlook synchronization package called KeySuite. KeySuite Synchronizes more details in Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes. The new software provides enhanced replacements for the built-in Palm applications and combines a rich Outlook experience on a Palm Powered handheld.

Palm has released an update for the Tungsten C handheld on its support website. The software update addresses issues involving a MAC address bug, clicking noises and various WiFi related compatibility issues.

Handspring has announced the availability of the Treo 270 on the AT&T Wireless nationwide GSM/GPRS network, bringing greater carrier choice to Treo customers. New and current AT&T Wireless customers can purchase Treo 270 for a starting price of $399, or for as little as $249 when adding an GPRS data plan to a voice plan.

iambic has released two new editions of its contact management and scheduling application iambic Agendus – Agendus 6.1 for Palm OS Standard and Professional Editions. The contact management and scheduling application adds a new integrated e-mail/SMS feature and more high resolution support.
