By now, the market is full of many selections, some of which are worth a second look, and others not worth even installing. Aldon's Crossing falls quite solidly into the first category. Motorola has announced it's second-generation DragonBall™ MXL applications processor. Current Palm OS licensee, Garmin, plans to incorporate the processor into a family of GPS-enabled products, including those that will run the Palm OS 5 platform.

Legend Mobile, formerly PTN Media, lost nearly $308,700 in the second quarter and has ended its agreement with basketball superstar Michael Jordan. Legend Mobile is the company known for marketing the Claudia Schiffer and Jordan branded Palm handhelds.

Following the success of Lemonade Inc. on the Pocket PC platform, Hexacto has introduced a Palm OS version of the strategy game. Lemonade Tycoon for Palm features all the same intelligent gameplay, colorful animated graphics and humorous twists as on the Pocket PC. Lemonade Tycoon is a business simulation/strategy title that provides a fun and challenging learning experience.

NASA has developed a meteor counting program for the Palm OS, just in time for the upcoming Leonid Meteor shower. NASA researchers developed the software so the space agency’s own scientists could make more accurate tallies of meteors during the 2001 version of the annual Leonid storm.

The University of Louisville is among of the first universities in the nation to make Palm handhelds part of its curricula. The university's School of Medicine and School of Dentistry have purchased and distributed 1,100 Palm handhelds to students. The university is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare with a reputation for leading-edge medical research and breakthrough medical treatments.

PalmInfocenter Exclusive: An anonymous source has sent us this image, of what appears to be a Palm OS Powered SmartPhone. A quick look at the image shows a possible built in digital camera, microphone, and high-res screen without a silkscreened graffiti area.
It is unclear which licensee has developed this handheld or if it is just a design mockup. You can click on the image for a larger picture.

ExpoAgenda for Palm OS, an independent guide and event planner for Fall COMDEX® trade show starting on November 17th. ExpoAgenda comes fully configured with events and booth information for the trade show and user can add additional events.
8MB Zire: Tokyo La Palm Tech-Lab in Japan posted a report that it has upgraded the RAM to 8MB on the Palm Zire. Tony Rudenko of PalmPilotUpgrade, does the same in the US for $59. Also check out this Clie Game Mod.

AvantGo for OS 5
AvantGo is currently working on a version of their software that is compatible with Palm OS 5. Current OS 5 users were surprised to find that avantgo has turned off "unsupported devices." AvantGo will send you an email when the new version is released, you must first send an email to
