The following appears in the Customer Support section of Palm's
Web site:
Apple Computer, Inc. has released the Mac OS System Update v9.0.4 for use with Mac OS 9 operating system. Among other changes the USB drivers have been updated and this has affected the operation of the Palm HotSync® Manager software. HotSync operations may time out and return an error message when synchronizing with conduits for the applications Meeting Maker and Outlook Express. Other conduits with "long" synchronization times such as AvantGo may also be affected.
Palm, Inc. is aware of the problem. We are working on a solution and it will be posted to the
Palm, Inc. Customer Support web site in the near future.

With insight and humor, Mike Verano offers a plan for bringing serenity back into our busy lives, noting that people are not necessarily complicated; more likely, they are compelled to lead complicated lives.

Matt Joley wrote in with an interesting question about obscure palm apps...
I have a Palm IIIe and as amazing as it sounds, I have not filled its 2mb of RAM. Now, I've been through the major software sites and think I've seen it all, so could all those readers out there share their favorite "obscure" software? By obscure, I mean not a popular program like
CityTime, everyone has that, I'm looking for that rouge app that has passed under my scope but may just rock my PDA world. Any Takers?

review ... By now your probably wondering 'What can't the Palm do?' Well ok … it can't pay your bills. Then again, maybe it can. With the PayPal software and a PayPal account, you can even do online Money transactions. Don't worry it's free, and even better, they will pay you $5 just to sign up (limited time only). How about paying some bills now. All of this and the Palm software only take up 126k of memory. I'll start by giving a brief description of PayPal, and then jump in to the description of the Palm software. For the rest goto

I was just up at Office Depot and spotted a Palm IIIc for $360. Don't rush out to get it because I only saw the one at the Office Depot in Lexington, KY. It was one that had been returned but I checked it out and it was in perfect shape, guess whoever bought it didn't like it. I'm happy with my Visor Deluxe so I'm not going to get it but if anyone is I'd be happy to get it and ship it to you if you send me the money for it and shipping. Check my rating at eBay (id=handspring) if you are worried about the validity of this. Send me an email if you're interested -

In September 1998, our lives changed. We got our first Palm :-). It was a Palm III, a dinosaur by today's standards. But after years of carrying around a Franklin Planner, this electronic organizer changed our lives. We discovered dozens of useful applications and ways to use our Palm in both our professional and personal lives. Several of our friends have Palms and we're surprised at how little they seem to really know about all the cool features on a Palm.
So with that we decided to start
this Palm Users Group. We want to spread the word of the Palm, as well as meet and get to know other Palm owners. We're also eager to learn new things about our Palms.

Doomling, the groundbreaking Palm 3D game was originally announced to be out on the 5th of April. On checking the site today, it has been delayed to the 24th "due to other commitments".
You can sign up for an email list to be notified of the latest details on the project. Thanks also to Alan for sending in word of the delay as well.
