Wireless telephone stocks surged on Tuesday, buoyed by a strong broader market and anticipation ahead of the initial public offering of Palm Inc., maker of the popular Palm Pilot hand-held computer devices, analysts said on Tuesday.
Shares of data networking equipment maker 3Com Corp. (Nasdaq:COMS), which owns Palm Inc., jumped 18 15/16 to 98 and was the third most active issue on Nasdaq up 20%. The Palm IPO is slated for Thursday. Read the full report

CNET has 3 articles on Palm this morning. Wow, talk about pre-IPO buzz! The first
details that Sun Microsystems will announce a deal with Palm to integrate Palms wirelessly into computer networks. News.com also
talks about Palm doubling the IPO price, which will take place on Wednesday with public trading to begin Thursday.
If Palm's stock jumps into the hundreds, the company will have a market capitalization that rivals some industrial giants. They also have a
piece on travel guides for the Palm platform.

Palm has Plans for new products every 6 months according to
their S-1 filing. So looks like I have six months to save my pennies! But, replacing all those peripherals, that's a different story. Well for $15 I can now use my Palm III accessories with my PalmVx with the Bridge. Read on for the full review.

Palm Inc. said on Friday it would introduce a Palm model with built-in wireless connectivity for Europe before the end of this year. "We are actively pursuing a solution in the GSM market," Greg Rhine, vice president of worldwide sales, told a news conference at the CeBIT technology fair. He was referring to the Global Standard for Mobile communication which is widely used outside the United States. Read the full press release
