Wireless telephone stocks surged on Tuesday, buoyed by a strong broader market and anticipation ahead of the initial public offering of Palm Inc., maker of the popular Palm Pilot hand-held computer devices, analysts said on Tuesday.

Palm has Plans for new products every 6 months according to their S-1 filing. So looks like I have six months to save my pennies! But, replacing all those peripherals, that's a different story. Palm Inc. said on Friday it would introduce a Palm model with built-in wireless connectivity for Europe before the end of this year. "We are actively pursuing a solution in the GSM market," Greg Rhine, vice president of worldwide sales, told a news conference at the CeBIT technology fair.
