I think he wants the wireless capability of i705 on his m515 using a snap-on modem with the looks of the charger in pic.

A BlueTooth card in a 515 with a BlueTooth phone is a far better option than an i705.

At least in Europe where we have GPRS coverage :)

I have an m500 and an Ericsson T39, they work great in combo with a BlueTooth card.

I dropped the Palm and have kinda screwed up the screen (one line of pixels is now out) and totally broke the BT card. I've bought a new one now, and the slightly damaged screen gives me the excuse to by a 515 :-).

(I'd buy a Clie because of the high res, but still no sign of the BT card for it in Europe :/ Palm were much better in that they release it earlier and it was in Europe over a month ago, and still cheaper)

oh yes, forgot to mention - the T39 has HSCSD too (as well as regular GSM of course). So your covered even if you can't get GPRS, which is cooler because it's 'always on' you pay only for transfering data (not for merley browsing or reading emails while 'connected'.)

It's a great little phone with amazing battery life (30 days on standby with the extended battery, over 24 hours actual talk time!) oh and the BT handsfree is really neat too!

I just worry I'm giving my self head cancer with all these BT attachments :-)

Motient's (www.motient.com) MobileModem already offers this capability for the Palm V, Vx, and IBM Workpad c3. They're working on a version for the m5xx series that will have a pass-through hotsync port, and also will have a clip-on keyboard as well. It may work with all UC enabled Palms, but we will have to see what the final plastics are like. This m5xx MobileModem is supposed to be available sometime in July after it passes FCC testing. If you're going to Networld/Interop in Las Vegas, they'll be there, and showing it off.

PIC mobile user @ 4/25/2002 3:41:05 AM #
i can say it is a very good invention but the disadvantage is that it quite bulky. maybe you can try creating a 5 in 1 cable. i hope that this suggestion can help

That is unless of course there already is something available.

Kirrio's site lists the fifth use as a holder for the handheld when in the car. You could could have found this out for yourself in 3 seconds by following the link in the article.

I guess it just shows how old I am (41), when I read replies here in which some anonymous poster feels it appropriate to make rude and insulting remarks to someone else's post. This is just so juvenile, to require some put-down to make yourselve feel better. Your reply to the person was perfectly fine, until you felt you had to show how smart you are. It didn't work.

As a physician, I recognize foolishness at a glance. I even recognize how much of a waste this reply is to you, since you will likely retort with some garbage to me. I can live with it.

Is it too much to ask that people think a little? Maybe do a tiny bit of research?

Get a grip, would ya?! Must be a mighty tiny world you live in!

Either assist others with positive info, or learn to shut it, with all due respect.

Thatīs why boards exists, to inform and for people to share thoughts, to ask for and give advice. Too sad some people donīt realize such a simple thing...

You come across as both pompous -and- stupid.

The origional replier was correct IMHO. All of 3 seconds was all it would have taken.

The phrase "Read The ****ing Manual" spings instantly to mind.

It would have taken you *less* time to check the web site than to post asking about the features.

Okay I am not the origional poster but your such a jerk I had to reply...

quote:
Your reply to the person was perfectly fine, until you felt you had to show how smart you are. It didn't work.
:endquote

As an independant observer this was *clearly* not an attempt to look smart on his part. He was pointing out how stupid you are.

YOUR REPLY how ever *WAS* clearly an attempt to make you look smart and defend your stupidity.

I'm entirely impartial in this, this is just how it looks to me.

quote:
As a physician, I recognize foolishness at a glance.
:endquote

This has nothing to do with you being a physician, you ****ing moron!

It has to do with you being stupid - the two are not mutually exclusive.

Hmm. I thought the original question was a good one. I did look at the web site, and I still only counted 4. IMO, it is not immediately obvious that the 5th option is not really a charging option at all, but simply refers to the claim that you can use this thing as a "car holder".

Bottom line... I thought the original question was a good question. Guess that makes me stupid too. -)

"5 in 1? How come I only counted 4 in 1?"

There are 3 kinds of people in this world:

Those that can count and those that can't.

The very first person wasn't stupid, they just weren't thinking. The second person's an ass for responding in such an arrogant manner. The rest of you should have just stayed out of it. End of discussion.

In case there are those that just don't get it.. I was kidding. In BOTH of my previous posts. :P

Anyway, why didn't my "wink" emoticon come out? What's up with PIC formatting on these message boards? Weird.

Anyone know?

Does anybody know how long it will take to get a full charge out of 4 AA batteries and how many times you can do this? The web site is lacking on technical info.
