They should make a missing sync for Linux. Linux is more popular than macinsuk and Windoze.
Also missing sync shoud be free source. All programs should be free source and available for free.

You're a Computer Engineer, advocating open source, and saying that "THEY" should make something for you? Do you even understand the open source movement?

Already out there
Mac OS X users/owners might want to give this a shot since you're effectively running a BSD system.

Haahahahahaa!! You're so funny. Just because you're running Linux doesn't mean you're 'leet'.
>macinsuk
Ooooh...now that's a mature sentiment. What are you, 10 years old?
>University of Puerto Rico Computer Engineering department staff.
Well, at least now I know the absolute *last* place I'd want to go to school...
RE: Missing Sync for Linux!
You might want to check that, coz last time I check a certian operating system has 95% Market share. I don't see how you could be more popular than that certain OS. But I do know that Mac sucks less than Linux
"University of Puerto Rico Computer Engineering"
I am pretty sure I won't be going there for anything computer related.
RE: Missing Sync for Linux!
Why is Microsoft, Apple, Palm and all other major software companies using Linux to develop software?
Why most engineers, scientists and doctors use Linux?
Why major universities offering Computer Engineering (including cornell, Hardvard, Yale, UPR) teach Linux programming instead of Windowze and Macinsuck?
The answer is clear, Linux is better. Wee need a hot sync software for Linux.
nothing's missing
Altogether, you can probably get more and better software for Palm on Linux than on any other platform.
RE: Missing Sync for Linux!
Why is Microsoft, Apple, Palm and all other major software companies using Linux to develop software?
>>Funny, last time I checked, Linux used a UNIX console... so... I guess you ain't all that hot, are you, flyboy?
Why most engineers, scientists and doctors use Linux?
>>Why do most graphic designers, artist, studios, production companies use Mac? Jesus, what a STUPID argument. Talk about moronic niche marketing at its worst.
Why major universities offering Computer Engineering (including cornell, Hardvard, Yale, UPR) teach Linux programming instead of Windowze and Macinsuck?
>>Depends on the course, you f**kwit. I haven't seen Parsons teaching design on Linux, or AUTOCAD on LinSUX (while we're in the "suck" and "doze" phase, I've decided to hop onto the bandwagon.)
The answer is clear, Linux is better. Wee need a hot sync software for Linux.
>> Actually, you need to get away from your monitor and learn how to spell, you kindergarten dropout. Besides, if you're so good, DEVELOP IT YOURSELF INSTEAD OF WHINING ABOUT IT TO US.
RE: Missing Sync for Linux!
LoL as far as I know, any responsible Computer programming teacher won't teach any student platform specific programming, if cornell, Hardvard, Yale, UPR teaches programming specificlly for Linux, then I am sorry, their CE Department suck. Anyway I find more Sun/SGI machinese in most engineering faculty, I don't know what the hell you are talking about.
RE: Missing Sync for Linux!
These companies develop software for Windows and Mac, it is impossible to develop and compile a program under linux and run it under Windows or Mac. Linux is not compatible with Windows or Mac, these companies do not use Linux.
>>Why major universities offering Computer Engineering >>(including cornell, Hardvard, Yale, UPR) teach Linux >>programming
All the universities that you mention there teach programing in Windows(NT/2k/XP) or Mac. The only one that uses Linux may be your silly "University of Puerto Rico". Please check the facts beafore you talk.
Also when you say that Linux is more popular than Mac and Windows, why you say so? 95% of people and companies use Windows.
Lastly I definitely would not recommend the University of Puerto Rico to anyone interested in studiying Computer Engineering.

Linux palm desktop already out
Why do you need this???
As far as I know it's just a USB syncing Palm OS 4.0 PDA. Why do you require this extra peice of software to sync it correctly?
Maybe I've got it completely wrong but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that's using a CLIE on Mac.
Nice but not necessary
However, Missing Sync does seem to add some useful features depending on your needs. Personally I look forward to mounting the Memory Stick on my Mac and to be able to easily sync with iPhoto.
