RE: Va-Vroom! - GTS
I wouldn't actually buy it unless I got a rechargeable colour PDA. I think I'll put in a bid on something on ebay. :P

Another racing game that is fun is Toy Races at www.palmsw.com
Cheers,

Too fast when over clocked! I had to slow it down to make it more realistic. Edward, on the opening screen of the registered version (where the car is spinning on a turntable), does the movement smooth out when it gets to the back of the car?

RE: Softick PPP
"The first thing: check if your PPP server (Windows XP) haev provided DNS address for the Palm. (Prefs|Network|View Log). If doesn't you could specify DNS address in connection parameters."
...that's all Greek to me. Then they said:
"If you use dialup connection from you computer to access Internet you need to setup some sort of NAT or proxy. You can use WinGate, WinROute or buil-in Windows XP NAT and DNS Proxy services...But they cost money ;)"
...how nice.
(Why do some people say you can kill two birds with one stone when it's hard enough killing one bird with two stones?)
RE: Softick PPP
Did you get a little icon in your services tray when you fired up PPPGate.exe? Nothing happens when I run PPPGate.exe (for that matter, at the end of installation nothing happened when I checked 'run PPP Gate'). I can see it there listed in the processes in Task Manager. But I think it's odd that this is the only indication of its presence.
RE: Softick PPP
There is more to do than just what they indicate. You need to install the software on the PC, then add a Palm RAS incoming network connection with the new connection wizard on the PC, then you have to go to the Palm prefs and configure the connection and the network settings.
For the Palm settings, go to Prefs, then Connection, and choose New. The name can be Softick or whatever, "connect to" is local network, "via" is cradle/cable. Tap details and set the speed to 57,600 bps (seems to work best for me), and set the flow control to automatic. Tap ok on both screens to get back to the main connection screen in prefs.
For the network settings on the Palm choose "Network from the drop down list in prefs. For service, choose "Windows RAS". Enter the username and password if needed (I put in my WinXP login), and choose Softick or whatever you named the connection in the steps above.
Under details for network, the connection type will be PPP, Idle timeout whatever you want (probably NOT "Never", in case you forget to disconnect), Query DNS checked, and IP address checked for automatic.
Hope this helps fill in the blanks.
PS for SnapperMail: If your email servers are on a different provider than your current connection, you may not be able to SEND email due to authentication restrictions on your SMTP server. This is a security measure as designed to hinder spammers. For example, your email server is on Yahoo, but you are connected to the internet via AOL, Merrit, or some other ISP. Most other funtions will work fine though, including fetch and deleting from server after junking an email.

"Scrawl V1.0 is freeware" ...
If it's truly freeware, I'd like to know where.
Links?!
This way for everything I read on Palm Infocenter I have to access Google to find a site with more info. :(

Va-Vroom! - GTS
The three cars handle differently enough to give the game variety and changing the difficulty makes a significant difference - the tracks change and the opponents race better. You can powerslide, and drive round the track backwards, when you doughnut (spin 360) you can hold the accelerator down and get to max speed whilst spinning on the spot ... not so much a bug as a quirk.
It's is a shame that you cannot see further ahead in the game (I imagine this would stretch the CPU somewhat) and there is no save game feature in the present version.
GTS has replaced MT as my 'Show of my Clie' game.
