Sync-Slave
i was a die hard PC-sync guy for many years. about a year ago i stopped syncing my Centro with my PC. period. cold turkey. now i simply enter/view everything directly on my Centro and i love it. no more dicking around with syncing. no more wasted time. no more worrying about if everything is up to date. i just have one copy to contend with.
i backup via BBVFS using 2 microSD cards in rotation. if Google Sync EAS worked flawlessly with Centro, i'd have no need for SD backup either. if i get an iPhone i'll just sync wirelessly to Gmail via EAS for my backup.
all of my Docs To Go files are synced via PC FTP Filezilla to my ISP Storage on the Cloud and accessed with Resco Explorer FTP on my Centro. important Memos all converted to MS Word files - all others deleted. now i just have to manage Contacts and Calendar.
it's very liberating not to be a sync-slave anymore. try it.

PC-syncing was necessary when devices were unconnected - ie PDAs. now that devices are connected - ie smartphones - simply copy and paste data (signature, contact info, etc.) from the email or web into PIM or vice versa.
also - having every restaurant and store data in PIM was necessary with an unconnected device. now with connected devices and Google Mobile - who needs to store this data? just get it in real time from the web.
times have changed and so should you.
adapt or die , dinosaur.

Necessary? Not for me....if you ever go international for months at a time, tell me how you like the roaming data charges.

Roaming data charges shouldn't be an issue for the Pre or Pixi. They're not international phones, are they?

Good Product!
I saw this the other day in the App Catalog and wondered why nobody was talking @ it. With this and homebrews like ClassicNote and the one that duplicates Tasks, a lot of Palm OS functionality is starting to trickle in.
I'm still surprised that Palm did not "take the best of Palm OS" and do their best to duplicate it, while building a futuristic OS. A few things about the antiquated and written off for dead Palm OS, were still revered even in the BB, WM, Symbian worlds. Seems odd to just throw it away on the way to the fertile pop culture market.
