Big deal. I know of a bigger one...

The Zodiac 1 which has Bluetooth, dual SD slots, 3d engine and 8Mb Video RAM is currently selling in PC world for some £50.00 ($100). It's hard to see how the Zire 31 can compete with that. The E2, on the other hand, will be a different matter...
£50! Which PCWorld is that!? At that price I will definitely go over to the dark side and buy one for my daughter. I always liked the form factor and custom UI.
My preferred media player/gamer pda.

That backlog many months ago you are referring to was for the Treo 300! I haven't read anywhere of such backlogs for the Treo 600 though...

Again, I doubt palmone has ever stated that it has had the same excess inventory problems with the Treo 600 that it had with the 300. Where is the link?

Which palm does this predict?

No, I think that these two will become the oldest models in p1's next lineup. Older models than these two will probably get discontinued.

Also, P1 still lack a proper low-end Treo so expect the Treo 600 stick around while being cut down in price to move the existing units out of the channel. I'd assume they have enough inventory built up to last them for months, especially with the 650 being rolled out on more carriers and sating most of the Treo 600 demand.
A proper low-end Treo and a new upper-mid range Zire or Tungsten (emphasis on multimedia w/o a HD) need to be P1's main goals for the remainder of this year.

More likely EOL for the T600.
On a similar note, Verizon is blowing out Treo 600s at $199 with contract to make room for the T650s that are coming, probably later this month.
Tidbit: I saw a photo of Verizon's ad placard for the Treo 650, and it lists a 1 megapixel camera, Internet Explorer, and dual LCDs, all incorrect.
