Comments on: Chapura's Call Log+ Syncs With Outlook

Chapura today released Call Log+ for the Palm Treo 650 smartphone, to help improve the accuracy of the customer’s contact management by more effectively using the information captured in the built-in call log and offering additional conversation-tracking tools. Call Log+ software lets Treo 650 owners take notes on their smartphone during or after a phone call and keep track of these conversations on their PC desktop by synchronizing the call log and associated notes with Outlook Journal entries, linking them to the corresponding Outlook Contacts.

Wow. Thirty bucks.

I guess Chapura is hoping your company will pick up the tab, but they're not going to get the general consumer at that price, I would think.

Now here's an opportunity for some competition in the $10-$15 price range. Toysoft? Sharkboy? You game?

With the current exception of taking notes our Natara Comet Treo Call Log (http://www.natara.com/comet), which has been around for a couple of years, seems more in line of your price range. Plus, you don't need Outlook and it calculates fields when grouped, etc.

You know, I've used DayNotez and Bonsai for some years now but never noticed Comet! I think I'll take it for a test drive. Thanks!

Agree the price puts it out of reach for me. But the interface with Outlook Journal is pretty nice (since I surrendered to sync'ing with Outlook a couple years ago).

If the price drops to about $10 for what is basically a clever utility, I'd bite. $30 is 2-3 times what this thing should sell for in the real world.
