Comments on: mOcean v3.0 Released

mOcean Palm OSmOcean, the iPod emulating mp3 digital audio player for the Palm OS, has just been given a major update. v3.0 has a number of new features including Internet Radio streaming, Live Podcast support, audiobooks, video and photo functionality, visualizers and new skin support.

mOcean features a touch sensitive scrolling user interface and controls much like the popular Apple iPod.The program lets you browse and control music playback with a on-screen mini scroll wheel as well as the 5-way navigator. You can create, save and load playlists from your personal music collection stored on an SD memory card. It also has background music support and headphone integration that will pause the music when the stereo headphones are disconnected or when the phone rings.

If only it didn't just only mp3

Looks pretty cool. Nice interface and having visuals is great for eye candy to show off.

However, since storage is limited to 4gb, I prefer to take my music along in ogg/verbos format, because it sounds better at lower bit rates, and thus I can keep more of it.

Too bad :-(

According to the mOcean site, .ogg is supported:

Audio files in other formats such as .mp4 and .ogg can be played only when transferred to device during iTunes synchronization.

Aren't Palm handhelds supported?!
