Doesn't work on T|C

Dan Georges @ 11/1/2006 8:46:25 PM # Q
I tried this on my T|C, and it would exit to apps if I tried to open a web page.
Maybe the beta version is more of a test of this midlet and not intended as a
working application.

Beta v3 crashes on my T3. Previous version is still working fine though ("beta installs alongside the regular Opera Mini" as the article states).

Yeah doesn't work on my Treo 650 either... its crashing on the End-User License Agreement (I remember this from Opera Mini v2, I also see it briefly flip up)

Is anyone able to get this to work on a Palm OS device?

I may have to revise this article.

It works perfectly on my Pilot 1000. Things slow down slightly if I have more than 10 windows open, though.

What's the deal with releasing so much unstable beta PalmOS software these days? Consumers are going to start getting even more reluctant to load new apps onto their devices if this keeps up much longer.

It does work in my Treo 650 GSM on the Spanish Movistar network. Of course it has some bugs, being one of them that the connection process' messages are not properly shown.

All in all, good work.

I works great on my Treo 650. I like the controls, you don't need the stylus to navigate.

it works without any problems on my TX. The image download feature is confusing. It does not download the image to the TX but rather to a server where it remains available to view. At least that is how it appears to work for me....

Had to delete it off of my Treo 700p. It crashed everytime I attempted to use it.

Crashes like crazy on my T|X.
I repeatedly tried to load slashdot.org but never got to the end of the first page as the application abruptly exits and the device crashes after a few seconds.
The previous mini works fine though.

Able to get the program stable on my TX

blonkythorpe @ 11/4/2006 10:57:39 AM # Q
I went into the prefs>IBM Java VM and changed the stack size specifically for the Opera Beta software from 2K to 32K and have not had any crash/reboots since then. I get an occasional "An error occurred" or "Out of memory" message, but no crashes!

Guys,

You need to set the java pref to 32k for both of them and you need to start the internet first before starting opera mini. Very important.

The Treo Mini Opera EULA Crash Fix

lightminute @ 3/22/2007 9:21:27 PM # Q
Going around posting this all over the place in the hopes that it helps someone(s).

This page came up in a search I made earlier regarding the crashing problem that Opera Mini encounters when trying to load a page. The symptom is a brief flash of the End User License Agreement before the application shuts down and either freezes or returns you to the main apps window.

The solution is provided in a GMail tutorial regarding the installed Java. I ran into the same problem until I addressed it this way... I will post it here verbatim in case the link goes down (and for speed)...
"
Please review the following configuration settings on your Treo by visiting Preferences > IBM Java VM:

* Check Use Double Buffering.
* Check Use high resolution coordinates.
* Don't set anything for HTTP Proxy.
* Set Memory maximum to at least 4Mb.
* Set Maximum java thread stack size to 4kb
"

The page can be found here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=52864&topic=10070

Hope that helps! Please post results!
