palm pre uk The Palm Pre is now available in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Palms first webOS device make its debut across the Atlantic today on the O2 Network.

Haven't seen much in the way of blogophere launch coverage of yet (please post anything relevant in the comments), however the Beeb is on the scene with a brief interview with Palm CEO John Rubinstein and O2's Matthew Key.

Notice the Pre running the Garnet launcher inside (presumably) Classic, unless the whole thing is a photoshop job.

Actually a pretty funny photo once you see that..

Here's a question for the Palm CEO

stonehat @ 10/16/2009 2:08:10 PM # Q
The previous CEO of Palm told us that the Palm Pre would also be available in Europe in the first half of 2009. That was a lie, which he never retracted nor apologised for.

Why should we believe anything the current CEO of Palm says ?

Vas - you're using a Pre in Greece? German Pre? Which network are you on? Does mobile internet, MMS etc all work?

Hey Tim,

sorry it was my bad....I didn't realise that there were several pages in view so I missed some of my shortcuts. Although the internet is working fine, I have problems sending MMS messages. I'm on O2 by the way...I guess I need to set something up?

Cheers

O2 says sales are good

We sold more Palm Pre's today than the total number of handsets we sell on an average day

http://twitter.com/O2/status/4919392571

Over 50% of people who bought a Palm Pre also picked up a Touchstone wireless charger

Final Palm Pre fact - our fastest selling store was 134 Oxford Street in London

amongst te "Pre facts" that O2 released should have been ...:

Most of the touchstones that were picked up were the free ones we were giving away.

We were giving away free ones pretty much only in London.

A store on Oxford Street gave away the most free ones.

Oh, and tht one critical datapoint purposefully left out; On an average day we normally sell N handsets.
