$10,000 Springboard Design Contest Begins
Xilinx, Handspring, and Portable Design Magazine are co-sponsoring the Cool Module Design Contest, which offers portable system designers the opportunity to design a Springboard for a top prize of $10,000. The winner will also a get a Visor Platinum and publication of the winning design in Portable Design Magazine. Design entries will be accepted through April 30.
The top ten finalists will be announced on May 14. Each of the top ten finalists will receive a Xilinx CoolRunner (a CPLD-based prototyping board) and a Visor Platinum. Finalists must submit working designs by June 30.
Final designs will be judged by Xilinx chief technology officer Bill Carter, founder, chairman and chief product officer for Handspring, Jeff Hawkins, and editor-in-chief of Portable Design, Richard Nass.
