Black Friday may still be a couple days out, but the deep discounts are already going on now at the Palm.com store. Two Palm PDAs are being substantially discounted as part of the Palm Store's "Black Friday" specials. Both deals sweeten the offer with a free bundled Palm accessory with each PDA in addition to free ground shipping and the opportunity to avoid the crowds at local malls and stores.

The Palm TX is currently on sale for an ultra-low $199.00 after a $100 instant rebate. This is the first time to my knowledge that a new Palm TX has been available under $240 and definitely the first time it’s been available under $200 from a reputable seller. Palm is bundling a Palm Wireless IR Keyboard (a $69.00 value from the Palm Store) with each TX purchase. I personally own this exact keyboard and while it’s not as pleasant to use as the newer, pricier Palm Bluetooth keyboard, it's a solid unit if you can live with the usual limitations of Infrared. Toysoft has released a new version of its SMS application. SMSPager is designed to replace the traditional pager. It features a simple easy to use design that lets you define custom filters and actions around text messages. Each custom filter you design can have a unique picture ID, audible notification and alert. Recent updates include Centro support, message encryption, mp3 ringtones, message threading and numerous bugfixes.

SMSPager v2.2 for Palm OS comes with a free 10 day trial period and costs $14.95 to register. It is currently on sale for $9.95 for a limited time.

The Palm.com online store is now offering the unlocked Treo 680 for $30 off the regular price. There is also free ground shipping on all orders at Palm.com as well. The unlocked Treo 680 in graphite is now available for $379 USD, and this new limited time promotion gives you an instant $30 off (no rebate form to complete). DataViz has released an update to Documents to Go for Palm OS. Version 10.02 brings complete Microsoft Office 2007 file support. Users can now view, edit and create Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007 compatible files and attachments in their native formats on current Palm smartphones and handheld devices. Customers who purchased v10.001 will receive the upgrade at no additional cost and upgrade pricing is also available.

iambic has released an update to YourCall for Palm OS. YourCall works as a powerful call management system and communication enhancer. It provides tools to help you capture your post-call dialogue and offers a variety of useful follow-up actions you can take after you hang up. It simplifies the steps you take to return calls, add contacts, schedule meetings, tasks, memos, e-mails, and SMS linked to your last telephone conversation by automating excess start-up steps. Version 2.2 adds the ability to select and send a predefined text message after a call and includes a number of stability and localization improvements.

YourCall v2.0 is available now with a free trial period. It starts at $14.95 for the Standard edition, which is focused on post call activities. The Professional edition, that takes the entire call experience (before, during and after) to a higher level, is $19.95.

Megasoft2000 have updated their keyguard enhancement tool. KeyguardExt provides a wide range of extra information and customizable functions. Instead of just the time and date, KeyguardExt will display a large clock and date display, a battery meter, memory status, signal strength, bluetooth status, missed calls and messaging information. It has been updated with full support for the Palm Centro and a few minor bugfixes.

The PIC Accessory Store has three new cases from Speck Products. Newly added is the Speck Products Skin Tight w/ Holster for the Treo 680, 750 and 755p. This case offers protection without adding too much bulk or inconvenience to your smartphone. The case wraps around your treo leaving only the ports and keyboard exposed. The other new Speck Treo case is the TechStyle Classic, also for the Treo 680, 750 and 755p form factor. Palmdoc.net, a blog focusing on the role of Palm OS devicesthe medical field, has posted a number of initial impressions from an exclusive hands-on with the rumored GSM version of the Palm Centro. Further lending even more credibility to the story is the fact that the GSM Centro report has since been removed at the request of Palm's legal department.

A few days after the arrival of the CDMA version of the Palm Centro, rumors and leaked spy shots began to circulate about a GSM version of the device running on the AT&T GSM network in the US. A recent ZDnet bog review of the Sprint Centro also mentioned a forthcoming GSM version.

DeluxeWare has released Click Deluxe 2, the sequel to its popular Click Deluxe title. Again the goal is to remove as many balls as possible by clicking on groups of balls with the same color. It sounds easy at first but the game gets progressively more challenging and fun as you progress. Click Deluxe 2 features enhanced graphics and gameplay, full screen 320x480 support, new animations, skins and background music and three levels of difficulty. You can also now submit your high score over the internet and see how you rank against players around the world.
