Verizon Treo 700wx Audio Patch Released

Palm Treo 700wxPalm has released a new audio patch for the Treo 700w & 700wx smartphones on Verizon. Palm Blog on the Windows Mobile 6 Update for the Treo 750

While the long wait for the official WM6 update for Treo 750 users on AT&T continues, Palm has finally taken the opportunity to address the matter on the official Palm Blog. Sadly, the post authored by the "Palm Windows Mobile Team" is quite reminiscent of Palm’s vague addressing of the myriad of issues surrounding the 700p's ROM update delay earlier this year and in 2006. No definitive reason for the huge delay in releasing the update is offered, nor does Palm make any reference to the fact that Australian 750 owners have been enjoying their WM6 updates for over three months. Also overlooked is the fact that unlocked 750 users have been able to download WM6 officially for nearly a month.

Palm Treo 500v Review

Treo 500v ReviewThe Treo 500v is the third and latest love child to be produced by the Palm-Microsoft affair. In addition to being the thinnest Treo yet, is also sports some other oft-requested hardware specs, including a 2-megapixel camera (finally!), Bluetooth 2.0 and a widescreen display. Its launch was a testament to the strength of the carrier relationships that Palm has been able to build over the three years they’ve been selling smartphones: in collaboration with Vodafone, the 500v has seen a swift rollout across twelve countries in less than two months. Like the recently-released Centro and last year's Treo 680, Palm is targeting the 500v at entry-level consumers who may have never used a smartphone before but are ready to upgrade.

Have they succeeded in creating Average Joe's smartphone? Or is it just another me-too Windows Mobile device? Read on for the answers to these & other scintillating questions in PIC's in-depth review…

Verizon Posts Treo 755p Teaser Page

Verizon Treo 755p GreenPalm OS users on Verizon are still eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Treo 755p on their carrier a full six months after the device's release on Sprint. Verizon has now posted a bit of additional information on top of their official October press release for the 755p on their B2B teaser site, offering a "Coming Soon!" headline here and the first pictures of the device in its new teal/green color scheme for Verizon. The exact definition of Verizon's "soon" is up in their air but it is still not outside the realm of possibility for a release to still occur before the end of this month.

TealPoint Updates TealScript

TealScriptPushed to the backburner by Palm's focus on Treo devices with QWERTY keyboards, Graffiti character input still has a legion of fans. TealPoint Software has just released version 3.93, primarily a bugfix release, of their long-time Palm OS utility TealScript. TealScript brings on-screen Graffiti text input to Treo and Centro smartphones that do not have a dedicated Graffiti input area like their Palm PDA brethren. In addition, TealScript is fully trainable and can restore much of the original Graffiti 1 strokes that have not been officially available on a Palm Inc. device since the Tungsten T of 2002.

TealScript costs $29.95 to register and a fully-functional demo version is included. For owners of older Palm OS devices picking up a TX or E2 from Palm’s huge "Black Friday" sale, TealScript can quite likely ease the transition from an older Graffiti 1 device to these newer Graffiti 2-enabled handhelds.
