How about having it integrated in a reagular phone so we do not have to add an adapter.
I like the idea, it saves one step, I always end up looking for the phone in my pda anyway!!!
Where do they come up with these things.
I suppose a few people might find this useful, but lets think about this gadget. The phone you most likely have this connected to either has a speed dialer on it that you've already programmed, a computer next to it with a modem that could dial for you, or you've got a sheet of paper there with the numbers on it. The place where you'd most likely want this thing to be, out of the office, is the least likely place you'd find one. I don't even want to guess what stupid thing related to this they're trying to get a patent for.
Speed Dialer Soft
It could be useful for over purpose ...

I should have made this more clear in the article. I'm updating it now.

Real Ideas...
A phone that I can beam the address book to and dial from the phone from now on using a jog dial type Caller ID display....
A car radio head unit (like the video units) with a touch screen that runs the palm os. This way in the car I car retrive address book data, calendar, etc. If they use a standard conector I could even use the gps for palms.
A large palm os unit (640 x 640 with double the pix that sony has now but done the same way) that people can use as a home base for address book, calendar, etc. so their kids (my 6 yrs old can use a palm) and family can sync apointments or know where to contact you at. Add home automation control and you have a real seller.
A bar code reader converted from the Cue Cat scanner from radio shack.
Just a few thing they could have spent there money on and had a better chance at getting a return on their money

Of course, it will probably be a bulky box that needs to be precisely aimed, and will probably cost $100+
