Reuters has released a report that says Palm has begun manufacturing handhelds in Brazil. The plant will make Zire and Tungsten handhelds for South America.

Palms have been sold in Brasil for years. The news is rthat they are manufacturing them there.

I bought my first Palm (a US Robotics Palm Pilot 1000) in Brazil, 1996. Palm established a presence there in 2000, but the product was available way before.

This manufacturing is amimed first at supplying the Latin American market. But about laughing about it, please make sure you know your facts before making fun.
Brazil is the largest consumer of electronics in Latin America, and several companies have their Latin American or South Americans manufacturing centers there. Some of them are:
Sony, Philips, Panasonic, HP, LG, Samsung, Siemens, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Flextronics, IBM, Dell
