To much beer at the Oktoberfest??????
This should have been done two years ago! Now although the Germans started 1 year ago to PPC like the Amerikans two years ago. At this time you will very hard find any PalmOS devices but many PPC`s in the big consumerelectronic stores.
Two years ago it has been oposite. When I ask the sales rep in the stores, they tell me, PPC is just cheaper and easier to sell. The same icture is when you see Best Buy or Comp USA.

Ryan: I think that asking our native language would be a great topic for the next PIC poll.

LOL!!
RE: Palm is Dead
I guess it's like a cursorial hunter, trying to run it down over time or something?
I guess they better keep running.
You know, like the Palm OS does?
RE: Palm is Dead
> It's the latest version of the thing that's been going to kill the Palm OS for all this time now.

This version is shiny.
Oooo.
RE: Palm is Dead
LOL - these guys crack me up. It used to be the mainstream tech press took it as given that PPC would roll all over Palm - at least they have wisened up. I can't believe there aren't more retractions from these people - let alone people still saying this crap (above). In a nutshell - if there are that many more PPCs on the shelves, then i guess thats really bad news because there will be that much more being sent back to the manufacturer. Palm has stabilized at a majority share of the market (im not talking about smartphones of course - symbians kicking ass there). Seriously - PPC stopped gaining marketshare over a year ago. The numbers vary slightly from analyst to analyst and from quarter to quarter - but have essentially stayed the same over all. And.....oh why bother arguing this?
RE: PAUL is Dead
The best people in the MS corp. refuse to work there and with that, nothing good is coming out of it. This "chromed" edition is a chromed turd if you ask me. They have no ability to dump 30 million units on the market. In fact, the market cannot absorb this amount even in the smart phone business.
Keep on dreaming. Talking about dreaming ...
... in 2001, Jeff Hawkins was killed in an automobile accident and so the Palm OS could continue, a look alike for Jeff was found and he now has been working to merge Handspring into Palm SG for the past year. However the OS engineers at PalmSource knows the real story and have placed clues in the OS 5.2 release. There are a collection of "Jeff is dead" clues all over the OS if you know how to search for them. He he.
RE: Palm is Dead
I *think* Sandbuck was being funny. Palm has Tungsten series. PPC will come out with the tacky Chrome(plated) line of devices. Right? Right??
RE: Palm is Dead
LOL!! Yes, yes, "PPC ChromedEdition" is merely a totem that I *thought* summed up my negative opinion about PPC without re-writing the essay we've all suffered through a million times before.
Maybe I should have said "PPC TailFinEdition", or shortened, "PPC XP TF 3.0 Mobile"....
Thanks for the yuks!
Unlucky numbers.
Were they just trying to avoid having thirteen?

How many of those 30 million devices are still in use?
Palm has been around for such a long time, some of the devices, such as PalmPilot, should already be retired. If we exclude those retired devices, how many active Palm users are still there?
Personally I have 4 Palm devices already, and two of them are still in use.
