RE: Patches ALREADY! !!!!
Palm amd SD...
They just can't seem to pull that together can they?
I think there is an SD patch for every Palm PDA so-equipped, saving maybe one or two, and they have size limits.
Still, at least it isn't SUDS, am I right? huuh?
(crickets)
I know you're out there, I can hear you typing...

All I'm saying is a 'security patch' versus a 'fix for a problem exploited by a virus' code kiddy seems to be little more than a difference in semantics.

How about actually reading what the new features are.
What about the whole fried SD issue with T3?

I have removed the card until further notice since I don't want to lose what I have on there or go back to comp & ask to replace it.

I've published an article on the possible T3 SD issue.
I'm so embarrassed...
When the T3 was leaked months ago, people b!tched and moaned that it wasn't out yet. When the T2 was released, the same people threw their arms up in disgust that PalmOne would have the audacity to release a "paultry T2 upgrade" when everyone knew the T3 was waiting in the wings.
Now the T3 is out and some software issues have been discovered. PalmOne responds by releasing a software patch to address the problems.
How does the user community respond? In a logical world, one would expect users to respond favorably for such quick customer support and service.
But as it is with most cases here at PIC, logic is tossed out in favor of hate, vitriol, and name calling. Now, PalmOne should be "ashamed for releasing this device too soon when they knew it had problems."
The *real* shame is that the contributions of the intelligent, thoughtful people whose opinions drew me to PIC in the first place have all been drowned out in the cacophony caused by all the mud slingers.
As for this user, I'm thrilled with my T3 and I'd like to thank PalmOne for their excellent customer support.
Right...

I heartily agree with your comments.

Increased Complexity
Today, the PDA market is much more aggressive. PalmOne is surrounded by competitors using both Palm OS and PocketPC. Additionally, the internal complexity of these handheld devices is quickly approaching that of desktop PCs (high res screens, removeable storage, BlueTooth, 802.11b, cellular chipsets, etc.) Combine these factors, and it's almost impossible to predict a solid release date on which you can release a 100% bug free device.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to come up with excuses for PalmOne. I just think the market is much more complicated than it was 6 years ago when all Palm had was the Palm III and Palm V families.
Has anybody tried this update on other Palms?

Patch for security???
If you try this security patch you'll see what I'm talking about.
And to those who complain... If you don't have anything constructive to contribute go to another forum. All I read mostly here lately are complaints....

I'm with Palmcoder
And furthermore, could you believe that they might actually release a device before they were done with one piece of software so that they could improve their chances at greater marketshare by trumping the release of other devices? CAPITALIST PIGS! These SOBs actually want to make money... Money! Can you believe that their company is trying to make money?!
Evil Empire!
And then, to show their brute ignorance of my delicate feelings, they give me the security software afterwords for FREE! Ignore the fact that I'm online everyday and that all registered users receive an email with simple download link to receive the software. I am now UTTERLY inconvenienced to download the free software. UGH! Now I'll have to figure out how to download stuff....
Where's my Windoze manual..
I have never met a happy perfectionist,
and there's a lot of people who visit this site regularly who will
never never never
be happy with anything.
