Comments on: AT&T Palm Pre Plus Officially Due May 16th

Confirming last week's rumor, AT&T has broken their prolonged silence concerning the Palm Pre's release date via a Facebook posting. Ma Bell has updated their wall today with the official word that the Palm Pre will be available on Sunday, May 16th.

The AT&T version of the Palm Pre Plus will sell for $149.99 after a two year contract commitment and a mail-in rebate. For a limited time, corporate AT&T retail stores will be handing out free touchstone charging docks with each order. No word as of yet on the launch status of its sibling the Pixi Plus.

All I hear is Crickets.

Is anyone around here camping out with me on Saturday night or not? Unless I can confirm Best Buy or Wal-Mart etc getting this thing before the 24th, then I'll pay the EAT (Early Adopters Tax). Can't wait b/c I've got a long trip coming up and I want to tinker with it then. Yeah, it'll be $50 by July, I've been saving aluminum can tabs since January 09'.

C'mon PIC faithful. Is it's time to put away the clipboard limit and the Pilot 1000 alarms and live a little.

Are you a man or a mouse ET? Metal or no, are you buyin' in? I'm talking Visa card here, not the e-com virtual wallet either. Anyone else? Anybody. :-D

Even at the price AT&T will be selling these, I think the 4g iPhone looks to be a much better deal.

Can buy more once i have a we-com virtual wallet. i'd want a Palm that can keep my Palm safe from loss. One that could assure that my wallet will never get lost. Metal would be nice. Perhaps metal will be used in the future in the present it is good to support Palm in ways one can.

Thanks for buying a Palm they have been around a long time and pioneers in their field.

what happened to the Pre you were going to get? or that iPad WIFI? or that iPad 3G? and now you're on to some mythical HP/Palm tablet?

sheesh. what are you some kind of masochist? or sadist? go buy a used iPod Touch and call it a day.

You enjoy your choice Palm has worked hard to offer more choices. In the past Palm was specializing in hadheld technology in the future they can continue to do so, one would think, with a larger budget.

Got the first Pre + this afternoon at the Chattanooga store. My first impressions are ... WOW! This is one amazing device.

My 18 yr old and 15 yr old are gaga over this thing. It seems light years ahead of his 3GS and he can't believe it.

Elegant is the best word I have so far.

Sweet, thanks for the update. i'm sure more people will share your joy once they get one. It takes a little time people have contract that have to expire or get bought out. Perhaps HP Palm could come up with a way to help people get out of their contracts? Perhaps they could buy out contracts and write the cost of as a business expense?
