RE: It seems to work here
Rant: I think PalmOne, in order to stem the migration of "power" (use the term loosely) users to $200 and below Zire models, should develop a policy of all Tungsten series handhelds having at least 16mb flash free for future updates. Ideally, one free (or $5 downloadable) "ROM Pack" should be released 6 months to a year after the launch of said Tungsten models to bring the built-in apps up to speed and/or squash any lingering bugs. Sort of a Tungsten service pack, if you will. This would no doubt make the Tungstens much more attractive to loyal POne users and corporate purchasing managers, as they'd know it would be a handheld that would be around longer than the average blister-packaged disposable Zire found at Target.
RE: It seems to work here
As for updates of the PIM apps, would be nice, but I wouldn't get stuck with T|T3's half-baked incompatible PIM apps...
RE: It seems to work here
I think this is just a "service pack", Microsoft-style, to fix things, instead of adding new features. I cross my finger, maybe the next update will be Cobalt...

Thanks for help
RE: It seems to work here
The only problem I had was after I installed it and reset, it made me do the "tap the stylus" configuration test about twenty times. I nearly gave it a reset, but it finished up just in time.

In the T|C Update 2.0 thread @ Brighthand, somebody mentioned this:
I got the message: "The radio module is corrupt and cannot be repaired. ROM installation aborted. Please contact customer support.", when my wifi was turned off. I turned it on and was able to run the update.

Or if you do want to get a new Palm, I'll take your old one... =P
Palm T|C with 512mb SD card and Radioshack Digitraveler GPS with Mapopolis Navigator.
# of files on my T|C's internal memory > 1k
# of CD's worth of music on my SD card > 20
combined memory free on both T|C and SD card < 15mb
Also wish WebPro 3.0.1 Was Included Too
>> "The only thing I was really expecting was WebPro to be included"
I also wish that WebPro 3.0.1 was included too. This would help free up some RAM and not cost us extra money.
WebPro 3.0.1 is so much better than the older version and better than Web Browser 2.0.1.

I hope the browsers keep improving, i have problems with heavy loaded pages like hotmail and others with many tables.
I think copbalt multithreading will improve these issues. Now while webpro is "formatting" the page the palm ios like locked. User interface events dont work untill the page is completly rendered. wel thats another issue. This upgrade is really a good thing from palm. thanks guys...

Digitizer fix. Ha
I traded it for a T|T3. The WiFi access was cute, but not all that useful to me... what I really wanted was a fast hi-rez ARM Palm with lots of memory and a vibrate alarm. The T3 suits me better.
But it is amusing that they did eventually break down and admit to a software digitizer problem. It took them long enough! If they'd done it sooner, I suppose I'd still have my T|C, and have saved the cost of a couple of replacement policies.
We're linked by fate
I'm just gonna stick with the Tungsten T line of handhelds judging from my digitizer problems with C through 5 months of pain and agony.
A Palm-Powered Handheld is the bread and butter for many people. Without a Palm-Powered Handheld, your progress is all for naught.

802.11G Connectivity Broken
I backed out the changes and my connectivity was restored. I have reported this to PalmOne.

It's as if tech support took my Palm out of the box and put it into an envelope and mailed it back.
How can I back out of the firmware upgrade? Are there any files on my Palm that shouldn't be there. Ie. possibly something disrupting the connection?
Any help here would be appreciated. I have had NO help from Palm Tech Support and will never buy another Palm product for that reason alone.
RE: 802.11G Connectivity Broken
Support told me that it appeared some files had been corrupted during the update and it wasn't until I followed their instructions to the letter that I realized... the WiFi files are probably the corrupted files.
Now it works like a champ... or more so, the features (WiFi) that I paid for now work.

Big trouble with this update for me
RE: Big trouble with this update for me
To do a warm reset, hold down up while you press the reset button. This will stop any applications running on startup, and allow you to temporarily disable them until you can find a way to fix that application (could be a damaged .prc backup)

It seems to work here
I've successfully applied the patch to my T/C. No obvious problems so far.
