Comments on: Palm 2 in 1 Stereo Headset Pro

Treo Headset reviewPalm's 2in1 Stereo Headset Pro is now available from the PIC accessory store. The headset uses a 2.5mm jack and provides quality stereo audio and a microphone bud with a call/end button for use as a phone headset.

We reviewed this headset over the summer and Kris gave it some decent remarks but knocked it for its high $50 msrp. It's now available in our store at a much more reasonable $29.95 making it a much more attractive option for both listening to music and for taking calls on your smartphone.

Not sure, but I have a pair of these as well as the less expensive earbud version that is packaged with the 750. The sound quality of the cheaper Palm earbuds is FAR superior to the fancy "Pro" version. The bass response on the Pro version is practically non-existent.

I have a set of these and find them great - the in-ear aspect reduces ambient noise considerably more than standard ear bud styles. And the experience when calls arrive is very seamless, your music stops the ringer goes off, you click the button - take the call - then get back to the toonz...

Haven't noticed any bass response issues - they are more than adequate for your average listener I would imagine.

Someone SAID these looked like Sony-sourced 'buds a while back. I also noticed the Sony styling similarities but I have a pretty good feeling this is just some cheap clone knockoff. I've never known a pair of Sony Fontopias to sound as lame as the Palm 2-in-1 model does. Still, for $30ish or less, it's definitely a much more attractive possibility than it was at $50ish.

If I am going on a short trip and need to pack light, I just take these instead of a BT headset, a set of "real" corded headphones and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.
