New palmOne Treo Bluetooth Wireless Headset
palmOne has just released their own wireless headset for the Treo 650 smartphone. The Treo wireless headset uses Bluetooth for cord-free conversations and is also compatible with other Bluetooth phones.
The headset is Bluetooth v1.2 compliant and provides up to seven hours of talk time and one week standby. It has an ultra-lightweight and compact design that fits over the ear, giving users the ability to answer and end calls, redial and mute at the touch of a single button. It also has dedicated volume control, can work up to 33 feet from the phone and also uses the same charger cable as the Treo 650 smartphone. It comes with a carrying pouch and an international AC adaptor.
The Treo Wireless Headset has an estimated street price of $79.99 and is available now from the palmOne online store.

The T650 does not have the right amount of output volume to make BT headsets work well. There's a dumb trick where you toggle the mute button during a call and it boosts volume level, but if you touch any other buttons or the screen, it goes back down. Lame.
I'll let someone else beta test this device and see how it works. Lord knows that Palmone probably didn't do any testing before they sent it off to market!
