Treo 650 Now Available on Mexico's Iusacell's Network

Palm has announced that the Palm Treo 650 smartphone is now available to Iusacell's CDMA network users in Mexico. The Treo 650 running Iusacell's MovilOffice solution is an efficient, quick and low-cost business communications tool that lets mobile users stay in touch with the office with wireless email.

MovilOffice is a solution for executives, professionals and independent businessmen, as well as any employees who spend much of their time outside the office and yet need to stay connected. The application can be used on Lotus, Microsoft Exchange, IMAP or POP3 platforms, ensuring data security at all times at an impressive data-transmission speed.

"We are pleased to be able to offer together with Iusacell a solution set tailored to the needs of today's mobile professional," said Ignacio Gallego, general manager, Palm Mexico.

"We are living in a world where the business need for connectivity with the office is paramount. MovilOffice is a safe and effective solution that allows users to stay in touch with their office, employees, clients and suppliers to make sure decisions are made immediately. This lets us transform lost time into productive time," said Juan Carlos Quintana, Iusacell project director.

Iusacell is listing the Treo 650 on their web page (http://iusacell.com.mx), but not with a price. For comparison, an unlocked Treo 650 costs about $11,000 pesos here in Aguascalientes (that's $1,000 US dollars to you and me...)

I'll have to check iusacell this afternoon for more details. Stay tuned...

Saludos,
Steve
