LOTR was shot in New Zealand

So I guess Frodo uses Palm Treo 650 and the evil lord of Mordor, Sauron uses The new Palm Treo 700wx.

Yet they lose to this little hobbit in the end.

True, but the real question is what does King Kong use?

I'm betting on a Crismon 680.

He doesn't strike me as a antenna kind of guy...

Treo incrementalism

I miss the days when I would surf to PIC and frequently read of new licencees, new models by various licencees, etc.

Is there any chance of palm producing a non-cellphone treo (like the treo 90)? I like my Tungsten C, but wish it had bluetooth and WPA wifi security compatibility.

There's no chance of anything in the forseeable future other than for Palm to continue to produce mostly WinMob Treos with essentially the same formfactor.

Sorry to sound like such a doubting Thomas but Palm's given us ZERO hope of even a single PDA line refresh. They also seem incredibly content to continue to push 320*320 & 240*240 Treos, falling back on gimmicks like various colors and mini-SD slots instead of pushing th design envelope with a flip design, or a 320*480 screen Treo.

Telstra u need 2 lift ur game

Ha! Understatement Of The Year. ;)

It's extremely doubtful we'll see any of the new CDMA Treos in Oz, mainly 'cause Teltra are looking to rid themselves of their CDMA network by 2008 (http://tinyurl.com/y9okax). Nevermind that over 400 million of our tax dollars went into it only in 2000...

Well, we may have won the 700 battle, but I'm more interested in the 680 battle...

Still that's interesting about your CDMA network. I wonder if NZ Telecom is planning to ditch its CDMA network...

I doubt it though, more's the pity. I don't why a country as small as NZ needs two different mobile phone technologies...

But now that telstra has finaly caught up with everyone else and started a 3g network they could bring in a 3g treo, but then telstra hasnt been the leader of the pack for quite some time.

Well, the 750v is a Vodafone exclusive (in Europe, anyway) so I'd hazard a guess that they're going to be the first ones to get a 3G Treo over here. I'm betting we'll see both the 680 and the 750 here early next year.
