Canesta has begun to take the wraps off of its electronic perception technology. One of the first applications that made possible is a projected virtual keyboard that can be integrated into mobile devices such as PDA's and smartphones. The comany expects products to incorporate the virtual keyboard chipset by next year.

Tapwave has changed the name of the Heilx to the Zodiac accorinding to a new article on CNN/Money. The article also claims the Zodiac will be available for pre-order in September in two versions for $299 and $399.

Garmin International announced today that the iQue 3600 began shipping this week to leading electronics retailers and traditional Garmin dealers within the United States. The iQue 3600 is the first PDA with integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. It runs Palm OS 5 and carries a suggested retail price of $589.

Tungsten T2, an update to the original Tungsten T. The Tungsten T2 now includes much better screen, 32MB of RAM and runs Palm OS 5.2.1. NYTALKS, a statewide school leadership training initiative aimed at superintendents and principals in public and private K-12 schools, is adding 1,100 Palm Tungsten T2 handhelds to the three-year program, Palm, Inc. announced today. The purchase is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Handspring, Inc. today reported results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2003 ended June 28, 2003. Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2003 was $14.5 million, down from $30.8 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2003 and from $49.0 million in the fourth quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter included $10.3 million in communicator sales and $4.2 million in sales of organizers and accessories.
