UPDATE: with picture The next generation Treo was just shown and on display at a recent Sprint PCS Business conference in Dallas. Early details show that the Treo 600 runs Palm OS 5 and includes and ARM processor, Camera, SD slot, a thumboard and a smaller design.

pre-order from Amazon.com, and will start shipping on June 30th according to the online retailer.

SanDisk has pushed back the release date of the WiFi SD card and the Memory/WiFi combo card until the fall of this year. The card will enable WiFi access on any handheld with and SD slot and Palm OS 4 or higher.

KalemSoft has released NesEm, a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for Palm OS 5 devices. NesEm is the first Palm OS Nintendo Emulator and runs a number of classic NES games.

A new app has been released to make it easier to find a working WiFi connection. WiFinder works on the Palm Tungsten C to scan the airwaves for working 802.11 access points.

Sony showed off a new Clie/PDA concept at a management meeting in Japan. The new prototype has a clamshell like design, a camera and built in wireless. Sony has also lowered prices across the board on many of their US handhelds.

Adobe has released Adobe Reader for Palm OS, version 3.0, a free software that allows users to read, navigate and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The latest version adds support for viewing additional Adobe PDF content, such as photographs and eBooks with added DRM security, and adds the ability to print over a wireless network.

UPDATED: Sony Japan has announced two new Clie handhelds, the NX80V and NX73V. The NX80V features a 1.3 Mega pixel camera with a Flash, Palm OS 5, 200mhz processor, 32MB of RAM, backlit keyboard and a CF card slot. The NX73V has similar features with a lower resolution camera.
