Handango has announced the finalists for the annual Handango Champion Awards. The awards recognize outstanding applications in the burgeoning mobile software market.

New PC Card Sled for Palm Handhelds

A new PC card sled for handhelds with the Palm universal connector had been released. The Guyver is a universal PCMCIA card slot adapter primarily designed for wireless communication PC cards.

Test Shows Tungsten T & C Outperform iPaq

Palm recently commission and independent testing lab to compare the Palm Tungsten T and C against, the HP iPAQ h1910 and h5450. The test compared battery life, wireless speed, storage efficiency and document handling. The results showed Palm Tungsten handhelds equaled or outperformed HP Pocket PC devices in all tests.

Tungsten T Price Cut by $50

Palm has lowered the price of the Tungsten T handheld by $50 to $349. Palm is also offering a new incentive to trade in your old handheld for a discount on a new Palm model.

Hexacto Acquired By Jamdat Mobile

Mobile game developer Hexacto has been acquired by JAMDAT Mobile, a wireless entertainment company. As a result Jamdat will add Hexacto's titles to its line up and will integrate the development team into its publishing business.

New Palm OS RPG Game Shown at E3

EDGE is a new RPG game with "console quality" graphics currently being shown at the PalmSource booth at the E3 video game Expo in LA. EDGE is a Real-Time Role-Playing Game for Palm OS 5 devices.

New Bluetooth GPS Products on the Way

Two manufacturers have announced new GPS receivers that are compatible with Palm OS devices. The Global Position Satellite receivers can operate via third party serial cables or wirelessly via Bluetooth.

ScummVM Emulator Updated

ScummVM is a program which allows you to play classic Lucasarts adventure games through the ScummVM engine. The new release include sounds support and can run new titles.

Palm is now selling a Blue Zire and a UC battery sled. PalmSource has announced this years powered up awards, PalmGear and CellMania are partnering to bring over the air downloads, there is a new audio player that also does MPEG movies and more.

Palm Releases Tungsten T Update

Palm has released a software patch that combines previously released system updates and fixes some additional issues. Notably, the update fixes a Bluetooth Internet connection issue.

Palm OS 6 To Be Released in Late 2003

According to new statements out of PalmSource, Palm OS 6 will be released to licensees before the end of late 2003. The new version will focus on wireless technology standards, security and multimedia.
