Comments on: CNET Article on Palm's 'Comeback'

CNET's news.com division has posted an interesting new article regarding the possibility (or lack thereof) of a Palm comeback. The article looks at the recent flurry of activity from Palm centering around last week's Foleo announcement and this week's news of an equity investment from Elevation Partners and the infusion of ex-Apple talent to Palm's board of directors.

The article, penned by CNET's Marguerite Reardon, goes into particular detail about speculating on the role of ex-Apple design guru Jon Rubinstein. While no new details are revealed, Reardon does mention a full line of upcoming Treos heading to market later this year through early 2008. No additional details on possible operating systems or form factors are given.

Yep. I almost alerted the moderator, until I realised that the wacko comments are written by the Gartner analyst…

Yikes. It's almost like e-tellurian moved over there. Couldn't be though; no e-com plugs.
Hmm, we haven't heard from ET in some time. Maybe he finally went home.

No no no..!!! If Palm will fight the Apple's IPhone by using the FOOLeo, it's not a comeback.. it's a GONEBACK.

Of course..!! The FOOLeo will be an amazing product. In a couple of months, the FOOLeo will replace the VTech kid's laptop of my 3 years-old nephew.

Funny stuff. I voted just so I could see the current standings. So far, number one with 16 percent of the votes is Microsoft Bob.

The Net PC

They were designed to be placed unobtrusively throughout the home, providing a simple user interface for Web and e-mail access

The problem: Net PCs were introduced just as the price of more intelligent desktop PCs was plummeting. Why buy an Foleo^H^H^H^H^H extremely limited device when you could get a full-featured computer for around $300?

For $99, I'd buy it just to hack it.

That'd be less than a T3 goes for right now. And a T3 will probably double in price in a year!
