Verizon Sale on Pre and Pixi Accessories

palm touchstone sale Verizon Wireless' online store is currently running a phenomenal sale on several Palm-branded Pre and Pixi accessories, all of which include free overnight shipping.

For Pre and Pre Plus users, Verizon is selling a combo pack of the Touchstone dock plus a car charger for $20. While the Touchstone dock is the standard Palm-branded accessory, the car charger is not the sleek Palm version but instead a rather generic Verizon Wireless-branded charger. It appears to have a integrated USB port for recharging an additional device such as an iPod or a Bluetooth headset. For an additional $5, that combo can be expanded with a "wearable pouch" which does not appear to be a Palm-branded accessory. From the product's description online, this is a black horizontal leather pouch with a fixed belt clip.

For Pixi users, the savings are even more substantial. The first combo contains the Touchstone dock plus a Pixi Touchstone-compatible battery cover for $9.99. For an additional $10, the aforementioned vehicle charger can be added to the bundle.

Digging a little deeper to examine the best bang for the buck, the $9.99 Pixi Touchstone deal is especially attractive for users of ANY Palm WebOS device, regardless of carrier. Verizon & AT&T Pre Plus users will find this deal especially attractive, as their devices' battery covers already are Touchstone-ready by default! Please note, however, that this price is for the Touchstone dock case alone and does not include an additional AC charger. Also, the generic Verizon car charger will likely not fit the small, deeply-recessed microUSB port on the Touchstone dock, as this generally requires a Palm OEM cable. Some users online have reported mixed results when using their devices at maximum power consumption (navigation turned on while playing music) while on a DC-powered Touchstone dock.

I recently ordered several accessories from Verizon's online store and found the free overnight shipping via FedEx to be extremely fast and a very generous touch, so anyone with the slightest desire to pick up a unique Touchstone dock on the cheap should jump on this offer while it lasts.

Ordered 2 touchstones yesterday and bam, they are here today Fedex. Had to pay a couple of bucis for state tax since VZW has retailers in my state.
Still a super deal on an awesome product. I never imagined how valuable the touchstone is in a car or desk. I have a total of 4 now. One intwo vehicles and 2 in the house.

Looking for generic hargers with tiny size to fit in the hole. Have one on order to test from eBay and willl report back.

Check yer local Best Buy. They are apparently putting all Palm accessories on clearance, both Palm-branded & generic (or private label; e.g. Rocketfish etc). I am working on a retail report now, since there are some good savings to be had. My guess is that a lot of this stuff was going to be EOL anyway due to minimal interest but now it's definitely gotta go b/c HP will likely want to rebrand/repackage the Palm stuff to reflect the new ownership.

A day late and a $100 more. That seems to be my mantra. If I'd waited one more day, I could have gotten my Pre for free (I paid $100 with my 2 year AT&T renewal at Amazon). And now if I'd waited another week, I could have saved $90 on 2 touchstones/chargers. I guess I just have all the luck.

Early adopters tax. I was first in Chattanooga the morning of the launch, and paid $150. The girl at the store did not know what a "Palm Pre" was. Beautiful!

BTW, that's really cool about the Evo inductive charging mod. Hey Gekko, for a little money, hours or tedious work, and tossing your warranty, you to can have tech equal with Palm. :-D

Reverend - I would rather cut one of my own balls off than to ruin my beautiful EVO by ruining it and devaluing it by grafting anything from that cheap shiit shoddy Palm hardware group. that cheap shiit touchstone didn't work reliably for the weekend i had it - and i sure as hell don't want it now.

HTC = quality.

Palm = cheap plastic shiit.

I've bought two touchstones (one for work and one for home) and they are working so well that I just ordered another one for a different location at home (convenience). I'm not sure what is cheap or shoddy about them. They seem to charge fast, have proved reliable so far, and are convenient as hell.

I didn't find the $9.99 Pixi cover with the Touchstone deal on the Verizon site. Did I miss it?
I did snag the $19.99 Touchstone and vehicle charger anyway which is still a pretty good deal. The Touchstone works great and the phones are pretty good too. Obviously clearing them out for the next generation of Palm devices.
