HanDBase 4.0 Released
DDH Software has released HanDBase version 4.0, which is also celebrating its 10th anniversary. The software is a powerful mobile relational database that enables users to create their own custom database solution with full cross platform and desktop compatibility. The new version includes new synchronization features, a deeper level of security, and numerous user interface and database design enhancements.
HanDBase version 4 has a new interface and supports custom report outputs. Another new "Smart Date" feature enables users to view data in ranges such as "This Week," and "Next x Days." In addition to 128 bit Safer-SK encryption, HanDBase 4.0 now offers an inactivity auto-close feature and encryption password caching, with HanDBase optionally remembering and recalling passwords for subsequent saves/closes of the database. It also adds the ability to sync databases stored on memory cards and can export directly to Excel, CSV, Word, HTML, or XML formats.
"HanDBase 4.0 again sets the standard for mobile databases, with features deep enough for power business users in a wide variety of fields such as medicine, inspections, and education, yet easy enough for anybody to create and manage lists for their own needs," said David Haupert, president of DDH Software.
HanDBase is available for Palm OS, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian S60 devices. Pricing begins at $29.99, more information is available from DDH's website.

Handbase Centro problem
##377# yeilded:
"A crash occurred on 12/12/07 at 5:40pm while running "Handbase 3":
StringMgr.C, Line:68, NULL string passed
I tried re-installing the data and program files. Didn't help. Starting with a hard reset and only Handbase loaded it would put my Centro into a string of reboots and could only stop them by removing the battery and doing a hard reset. I also tried version 4 of Handbase and it started the reboots just like the previous version.
After using Handbase for many years since a Palm IIIe, I am now reluctantly using Smartlist To Go because Handbase didn't like my Centro.
