Blue Nomad Releases Nomad Security Suite

Blue Nomad has released the new Nomad Security Suite, a comprehensive data security package, for Palm OS Powered handhelds and smartphones. The security suite includes RemoveIt, which allows users to identify programs taking up hidden space on their devices and provides an audit trail of files and preferences created by running programs, BackupBuddyVFS Professional which creates quick and secure device backups to external memory cards, and SwordFish for Palm OS which allows users to securely store personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and passwords.

Nomad Security Suite for Palm OSBlue Nomad has also made available the Nomad Security Suite Plus, which includes the above applications as well as BackupBuddy for Windows/Mac OS X. BackupBuddy uses a unique process for maintaining a complete history of any given device's files and settings so that users can restore individual files or their entire device to any previous point in time with the simple click of a button—a process called ZoomBack. BackupBuddy, when used with a Palm Powered device, provides a complete backup solution for both consumer and enterprise customers. BackupBuddy for Mac OS X contains all the features present in its Windows counterpart and works both with the Missing Sync from MarkSpace, as well as with the standard HotSync software as supplied by Palm.

"We are very excited by our release of the Nomad Security Suite,” says Dr. Alexis S. Hinds, CEO of Nomad. “It is the first comprehensive data security solution available for Palm Powered devices. As users continue to store more and more data on their handhelds and smartphones, they need to feel confident that they can securely manage the data present on their device and have access to comprehensive backups should the need arise.”

?The Nomad Security Suite is available now from Blue Nomad's website for $29.95. Customers may also purchase the Nomad Security Suite Plus for $39.95 which includes a license for BackupBuddy 2 Professional for Windows or Mac OS X.

So it's $10 cheaper for each suite respectively

I guess BN gets the credit of bundling Palm apps into a security suite first.

If you buy through Blue Nomad's site, it's $10 cheaper for each suite
Swordfish $15
BBVFS personal $10
Remove It $15
= $40 for std reg price

BBVFS Pro is $20
or = $50 for Pro reg price

BTW, have Swordfish and RemoveIt been out for a while now? I've heard of variations of BB and WordSmith, but never these 2.

I hate that new "Hobo on Crack" BBVFS icon.

What were they thinking??????????

I think they were thinking "blue" (color blue) "nomad" (dude/hobo carrying a sack). It makes more sense to me than Red Gorilla, Red Hat, and all those other wierd dotbomb names that include a color. Perhaps they could have called it "Sad Mobile User" instead of Blue Nomad?

look at the ***BBVFS*** icon - the ***GREEN*** HOBO ON CRACK.

the blue hobo has now turned green, jumpy, hair sticking up, and he's emaciated because he is strung out on crack. he has dropped all his crack on the ground and is desperately trying to pick it up and put it back in his crack bag. it's like a before and after. anyway, the icon is ugly as sin on the device.

I think he's delivering newspapers to an ant colony. That is a little strange.
