Palm Pre
Palm Pre is the official name of Palm's upcoming smartphone that runs its next-generation WebOS.
The Palm Pre is an innovative new phone that combines a large screen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The Pre was announced on January 8th, 2009 at the Consumer Electroinics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The Pre packs in a number of cutting edge features such as a 3.1" inch 320x480 pixel display, 8GB of built in storage, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a slide-out thumb keyboard. You can view the full Palm Pre specifications here.
Sprint will be the exclusive carrier partner for the Palm Pre initially in the US. It will be availabile begining June 6, 2009 for $199 after rebates and a two year service contract.
A GSM version with UMTS/HSDPA 3G data will presumably be made available once Sprint's period of exclusivity has lapsed. Stay tuned to PalmInfocenter for more details on pricing and worldwide availability.
