Treo Pro Now Available from Vodafone

Treo ProVodafone's UK Business site is now taking orders for the Palm Treo Pro smartphone. Prices currently range from free to £340.43 depending on your contract and plan.

Palm's own European web store has been taking pre-orders for the SIM-free version for the past two weeks, and the unlocked version just went on sale in the US last week as well. There have yet to be any reports of order fulfillment, though comments made last week by Palm's CEO indicated they were just getting underway.

The Treo Pro is Palm's new Quad-Band GSM phone (850/900/1800/1900MHz) with Tri-Band 3G HSDPA/UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition on a 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201 processor with a 320x320 pixel flush touchscreen, 256MB memory (100MB user available), microSD expansion (up to 32GB supported), built in Wi-Fi (802.11b/g with WPA, WPA2, and 801.1x authentication), Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and a 2.0 megapixel camera.

Also, don't miss our detailed Treo Pro review and unboxing video.

Thanks to CoolSmartphone for the tip.

I've already got mine from eurostore last week! So far best device ever, and first Windows Mobile for me.

Looks like this was designed for the Euro market and Palm went ahead and threw together an unlocked version for the US market. Too bad AT&T or T-Mobile did not pick this up. Looks like a compelling WM phone.

According to Ed Colligan, the Pro will be coming to a US carrier in the next few months. He didn't specify which one, though lots of people are expecting it'll be AT&T (since it's a GSM phone, T-Mobile's 3G network is on a different frequency, and Palm has had a relationship with AT&T that it hasn't had with T-Mobile in years).

Good. Maybe Palm didn't wanna hang around until ATT approved the device or maybe ATT has been trying to clear some other stock?

I won't buy a WM device, but I'm glad for anything that helps Palm keep floating long enough for Nova to fly or flop. That point will make it or break it for me personally.

eas, what phone did you have before? (I'm just curious to know how does the Treo Pro do in comparison).
Can you provide a quick list of, let's say, 3 things you love most and 3 things you hate about the Treo Pro?
TIA

No 3.5mm on Android!

The first Android phone released on T-Mobile will NOT have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Only a mUSB like the 800w. Way to go on the Pro Palm!!!
