CorePlayer Mobile v1.2.5 Released

CorePlayerContinuing their strong showing of frequent updates of late, CoreCodec continues to improve their popular multi-platform CorePlayer media player. Now up to version 1.2.5, this latest build is, in the words of CoreCodec's BetaBoy, primarily a "bug fix and stability release for all platforms" that is centered around adding support for WM 6.1 ROM updates on some Windows Mobile devices.

Additionally, CoreCodec are also promising that the 1.2.x line is drawing to a close and the 1.3.x version of the app is waiting in the wings, as CoreCodec tries to grow the app from being a mere media palyer to a "content aggregator" platform.

  • FIX: Inconsistencies in the display of the time
  • FIX: Don't prerotate almost square bitmaps
  • FIX: Avoid treating an empty .pls file as .m3u
  • FIX: Relative path handling in playlists
  • FIX: HTTP long URL redirections (like YouTube)
  • FIX: Symbian: Fix a crash when accessing the menu
  • FIX: Palm: Always reset auto off timer when restoring timeout
  • FIX: WinCE: More checks for the QTV detection
  • FIX: WinCE: Window resizing issue when fullscreen mode changes menu and toolbar is temporarily created
  • ADD: Handle the x-audio/mp3 MIME Type
  • ADD: WinCE/WM: WMP Plug-ins Preferences page w/new plug-in detection scheme
  • 300+ other changes

In the previous update, CoreCodec added support for the popular Adobe Flash flv flash video format, in addition to the superb YouTube support found in the previous update. The changelog and forum discussion of the new release can be seen here.
