Ludus Tech has released the first utility specifically designed for the
Palm Treo 700p. LudasP is an app that allows you to fully customize the behavior of the application and phone buttons on the 700p. It enables you to set the home button to your own preferred launcher, adds an all in one phone button and customize which key is used for the menu and also allows you to set default actions for the app buttons.
LudasP is available now with a seven day free trial, after that is costs $5 USD if you want to keep it.

LightWav Pro is a custom Treo ringtone and picture/video ID manager from
ToySoft. It has a number of detailed calling features that allow you to create custom mp3/ogg/wav ringtones, assign custom picture caller ID and Video caller ID and caller ID and SMS blocking. CNET has released a list of the top ten highest-radiation mobile phones in the US. The GSM version of the Palm Treo 650 ranks in the top 10 with a Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of 1.51 W/kg. The FCC limit for public exposure from cellular telephones is a SAR level of 1.6 watts per kilogram.

An updated version of
Launcher X has just been released. Launcher X is a highly configurable and skinnable application launcher that replaces the built-in launcher on your Palm OS Powered device. The update includes full support for NVFS devices (Treo 650, T5, TX, TE2) and support for the Palm 5-way navigator. It is also been enhanced to support the Treo 700p.
Launcher X v1.2 comes with a free trial and costs $19.95 to register.

Sagio Asset Management has announced that it has increased its ownership of Palm, Inc. this week from 5% to 6.3%. This comes after shares of PALM took a 5% drop in share price following investor concern over competition with the Motorola Q. Saigo has also released a very positive report on Palm's future prospects claiming that Palm is still undervalued and misunderstood by most market analysts. The report also speculates on Palm's upcoming smartphone releases this year.

Verizon Wireless and Palm, have officially announced the Palm Treo 700p smartphone is
available online today and will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications retail stores on June 1st. It will be priced at $399.99 with a two-year customer agreement. The Treo 700p smartphone includes hardware and software innovations centered around usability, connectivity, multimedia and compatibility, designed to take advantage of the fast EV-DO data speeds of Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service.
