HotSync for Free at JFK Through AdAlive
AdAlive, who announced a few months ago that they would be creating a network of free Palm Internet access-points in airports and other public areas, has made their very first ones immediately available at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York through billboards at the American Airlines terminal. The connection is made through infrared and the beta of a free software app (approx. 300 KB) that can be downloaded from the company's website.
Users can send and receive email with any POP3 account, sync Palm applications, such as AvantGo and Vindigo, backup and refresh calendar and address book data, download city guides and travel-related information, and interact with the billboard advertiser to request additional information and receive special offers.
adAlive plans to expand to other airports and public areas later this year.

Nifty!
Coolness. I've always looked forward to seeing something like this in places like airports, train stations or other travel destinations. What's better than to get city information without having to bring along a tour book, or read updated news articles on those long, boring layovers.
Downsides:
The app is pretty large at 300k (time to give more brains to my trusty ol' IIIx?). If there aren't enough stations, this may potentially end up being another long line to wait through.
More air/train terms!
Privacy
My nasty suspicion is that AdAlive is paying for this service by selling the information it collects from PDAs
