The Solvepoint Palmdock V adapter helps PFU America connect Palm V to PS/2 Keyboards.
SAN JOSE, Calif., January 11th, 2000 - PFU AMERICA, INC., today announced that it will begin shipping Solvepoint's PalmDock V for Palm V(tm) connected organizers. The PalmDock V enables owners of any of the Palm V(tm) family devices to use Happy Hacking(tm) Cradle and type directly into their Palm organizers with most standard PS/2 PC 101/104 keyboards. PFU America released the popular Happy Hacking Cradle, which enables owners of any of the Palm III(tm) family or Palm VII(tm) devices to type directly into their Palm organizers with most standard PS/2 PC 101/104 keyboards, last November. Since then PFU has experienced greater than expected demand from many owners who have requested connectivity to the Happy Hacking Cradle for the Palm V organizer. In response to that demand PFU is developing a new Happy Hacking Cradle for the Palm V organizer which it will release this summer. In the meantime, PFU has teamed with Solvepoint to provide the PalmDock V (http://www.palmdock.com) with the current Happy Hacking Cradle.

The PalmDock V is molded from rugged plastic, designed to be a lightweight and stylish addition for Palm V organizers. It is designed to match the bottom of the Palm III and Palm VII series of organizers. The PalmDock V slides easily onto the Palm V organizer and gently locks in place. Thus the PalmDock V provides Palm V organizer users with connectivity to accessories designed for the Palm III and Palm VII organizers, including PFU's Happy Hacking Cradle.

The Happy Hacking Cradle has a standard interface which enables it to connect to all Palm III family and Palm VII organizers. An additional serial interface at the back of the unit allows the PalmModem(r) to be connected to the cradle, so users can enjoy the convenience of using a modem and a keyboard.

The Happy Hacking Cradle collapses to just 1" by 3.5" by 4.6", slightly larger than a deck of playing cards and the PalmDock V is only 0.5" by 2.8" by 3.0", almost the half size of the Palm V organizers. When the PalmDock V slides onto the Palm V organizer, it extends the organizer by only 0.8". This makes it convenient for people on the move.

Pricing, Availability, and Support
The Happy Hacking Cradle and the PalmDock V are available at PFU America's on-line shop (http://www.pfuca.com) for $49.00, $34.95 respectively. PFU America will exhibit the Happy Hacking Cradle and the PalmDock V along with the award winning Happy Hacking Keyboard for Linux users during the LinuxWorld Expo in New York, from February 2nd through 4th at Jacob Javits Center (Booth # 130).

Palm Dock V

I just got one, and it works GREAT! Well built and actually "saved" me money my not having to get a new modem to fit my Palm V. As well as not having me to get a new cradle for my work machine.

It's better than having to shell out $$$ for Palm V accessories when you already have the III equivelents!
