the secret to success!

Subscription services. The gift that keeps on giving.

Nice product but the annual fees are amazing. The annual fee for VeriChat is killer right now, I hope that this acquistion does not mean that Verichat will be priced out of the consumer market.

At $30 or $40 bucks a year, isn't it ALREADY "priced out of the consumer market"?

At that price, I think they've been aiming for Enterprise, which may be why they had to sell out. It's a great little program, but most people (myself included) aren't into dropping $30 a year for an upscale IM program, especially when there are many decent freeware and a few "purchase once" programs.

If they want to stick with a "subscription" model, make it $10 bucks a year and they'll probably get me to cough up the money as it was fun the rare moments I used it. Bundle it with Intellisync or some other app. Or strip out all the "bots" and just sell me the basic multiple IM ability with their great interface.
