Wireless Modem for the Visor
GoAmerica, reseller of the Minstrel III wireless modem for the Palm III series, has announced that they will be releasing a Handspring module wireless modem for the Visor in the third quarter of this year. No price for the modem was mentioned but the service currently costs $49.95 a month for unlimited usage.
While we're on the subject, GoAmerica is offering the Minstrel III for $99 when a year-long service contract is signed.

if you use software not provided by them!
RE: Novatel Wireless
the Omnisky network is because the factory assigned Minstrel IP
address will not be recognized by Omnisky.
With cell phones knowledge persons could clone phones. Especially
in the days when cell phones were car phones (or "bag phones")
some people wanted a phone for the sedan as well as the convertible
but did not want to pay two monthly fees. So they paid someone to
make the convertible's car phone a clone of the sedan's care phone.
Novatel has come out with a Minstrel IIIc wireless modem for the Palm IIIc.
Cloning the IP address of your Omnisky/Minstrel V onto a Minstrel IIIc
would give you a "leg up" on everyone else in your wireless neighborhood.
Rumor has it that Palm will have a Palm Vc before year's end. But it may
have a new processor, may have a new connector, and may require a new
Omnisky/Minstrel Vc as well a new serial or USB dock and new everything
else that you already bought for your Palm V/Vx. (Note: a friend shared
his Palm III, third-party stylus. The pocket clip on stylus fit into his Palm
III just fine by but would not fit the groove in my Palm Vx!)
Wouldn't it be nice to have a Color Wireless Palm? :)

Free Wireless Modem for Palm III and V
You get the modem for free after a mail-in-rebate. Also they provide unlimited
internet wireless access for $45/month with no hidden charges (if you are in the network).
Also you can load any s/w you want to, unlike omnisky which will only let you se their s/w.
cheers,
Amar..
