CorePlayer Update Delayed Until June

In what may not a surprise to longtime followers of the CorePlayer saga, the release date for this updated version of this popular mobile media app has been pushed back to June 14th.

May 14th was the date previously earmarked for the newest version of the formerly freeware multi-platform program. A post by CoreCodec emplyee "BetaBoy" in the CC forums gives additional information. While essentially unchanged from the previous PIC news article, this thread does offer some updated information on bugfixes as well as some screenshots of the new version of the app. You can read our previous CorePlayer review here.

I think I'll stick with TCPMP. What does CorePlayer actually offer that TCPMP doesn't?

Palm TX + 1GB SD + Motorola v3x = awesomeness

A nicer interface, and slightly more stability. Otherwise, not much.

Patent licenses so you can legally use all the codecs that come with it :)

Better to have it done right than push it out the door and it's crap like the Nokia 770!

Will it see the LifeDrive partition?!!?

Having put TCPMP on my LifeDrive, I was shocked to see it can only see the files that's on the SD and not in the internal 3GB+ LifeDrive partition!

Will the pay-for CorePlayer see the LifeDrive partition?!

My LifeDrive was long, long gone by the time I got CorePlayer. My guess is, however....no.

The best thing to do might be to invest in a 4gb SD 1.1 card while they are still reasonably cheap and widely available.

Then put all of your Palm apps/programs in the HD partition and keep the SD card free for movies/mp3s/hentai etc.
