CallRec is a novel program for Palm OS Treos that can record your phone calls. It is able to record both sides of the conversation at the touch of a button. It can also be used as a quick voice memo recorder. Calls are saved as standard wav files on your memory card. This new version adds compatibility with the Treo 700p, automated recording of all calls, the ability to beam, Bluetooth or email recordings and a new windows PC conduit.

Big Box of Blox for Palm OS and Windows Mobile handhelds. Big Box of Blox is a block stacking game taken to new outrageous extremes. Using stylus or button controls, players arrange the three-blox-high stacks as they fall. Match blox in groups of three or more, vertically or horizontally, to eliminate them.

Palm has revised the
Tungsten E2 handheld's packaging to reflect the company's new name and branding. The muted burguandy coloring and box design of the old PalmOne packaging is gone, having been replaced by a sleek, mostly silver and orange color scheme. The new "Palm" branding is also present on the product packaging. The actual handheld, now visible through the plastic blister packaging, still carries the PalmOne branding, though its silver body seemed a bit darker and less smudge-prone.

Palm announced in its latest quarterly conference call that no more Treo 650 shipments will be sent to Europe because of new European environmental laws. The smartphone will be available from carriers until current inventory runs out. Palm has also promised a new Treo model designed for European markets before the end of the year to replace the Treo 650 and comply with the RoHS directive.

With BlackBerry Connect, movistar's enterprise and multinational customers will benefit from a wider range of devices compatible with BlackBerry services from movistar.

Palm Inc today reported that revenue in its fourth quarter of fiscal year 2006, ended June 2, totaled $403.1 million, up 20 percent from the year-ago quarter. For the full fiscal year 2006, revenue totaled $1.6 billion, up 24 percent from fiscal year 2005.
"Treo smartphone sales surpassed an important milestone -- $1 billion in revenue for the fiscal year," said Ed Colligan, Palm president and chief executive officer. "Our product engine is firing on all cylinders as evidenced by our recent introductions of both the Treo 700w and the Treo 700p, each of which offers a different operating system, 3G radios and robust application suites, and we delivered these products to multiple carriers simultaneously. We enter fiscal year 2007 as a strong leader, capable of delivering on the rich potential of mobile computing on a global scale."

Palm today announced that it has settled a patent infringement lawsuit first filed by Xerox Corporation nine years ago. Under the settlement, Palm will pay Xerox $22.5 million, which includes licensing fees for Unistrokes and two other patents. The agreement also calls for "patent peace," a seven-year mutual covenant not to sue within mutually agreed fields of use.

Rumor: Engadget has obtained
information showing the possible launch details for two new Palm Treo models. The document shows small pictures of two devices called the Palm Lennon and Palm Nitro and lists release dates for Cingular in October.
