RE: wow!
Excellent performance on the Clie' SJ33, even with "alot going on".
I'm not usually into games of this type, but the graphics and sound, not to mention ease of gameplay, just lured me right in.
Extravagant graphics & sound options
- Variable color hue/saturation/brightness
- Resolution modes: 160x480 and 320x480
- Toggling graphic effects for performance
...The game is impressive. The audio samples tend to cut off at times and the speed of menu animation is a little clunky on my 300MHz overclocked NX70V, but the sheer expanse of RTS graphical real estate on the screen is awesome for a game of this type.
Excellent so far.

RE: Extravagant graphics & sound options
I was on the beta test team for this and played it on my NX70V but never had any problems with the animations being clunky. You can adjust the game speed, if you increase the speed it will probably improve the animations for you (check the Options menu and adjust the speed).

Strategic assault $6
Argentum is $20
Buglord is $20
AOE is $30
It only worth $11.99 at most, not $30. It's only slightly better than Strategic assault, not even half as much fun as argentum, and DEFINITELY far worst than AOE.

TennMan - please re-read what I posted: The MENU animations are clunky. Very choppy for some reason. The game itself is fairly smooth except for audio dropouts here and there.

great to see a real RTS implemented... but..
the only thing really lacking here is a nice midi music backend - the audio has simple sampled sounds, but, to play a real RTS - you need music. just look at the classic implementation of warcraft on PC's - without the music, it just wasn't there.

we have developed a music engine specific for this type of purpose, and, we have managed to get an original warcraft midi playing - its a pity this engine doesn't include music; it isn't really much of an 'sacrafice' of cpu power if implemented correctly.
hopefully they'll put music in soon! we have played with the game, and, its great otherwise.

1) Jog dial support is b-b-broken. I jogged down on one screen & my whole NX70V locked up. Had to hit the reset (soft).
2) Sound craps out with multiple units selected/commanded.
Actually, I know others have seen item 2. I also think $30 is a bit high, but not so unreasonable that I won't consider it. It will just take me quite a while to complete the consideration process.
Overall, I think it is a great game.
Tip DS
Way worth $30
This is not only the PDA game of the year, it's the most dynamic PDA game ever. I'm nearly conviced could port Warcraft or Age of Myth to PDAs given enough storage space.
Warfare is way worth the 30 bucks. Even though the existing missions seem to have high replayability, Handmark is coming out with an SDK to allow 3rd party expansion missions.
BTW, Handmark has a message board...
